Kemp's Upper Tap

"Fantastic local pub in downtown Lexington, Illinois. We selected this location as it already had great reviews and was very close to the northeast trailhead of the "Constitution Trail" of the Bloomington/Normal area. The staff here was fabulous with a special shout-out to John. What I found particularly impressive was the amazing selection of craft brews for a small town. The staff was particularly knowledgeable about both the selection and even the breweries that supplied them! I even found some of my favorite and uncommon Chicagoland brews, although I selected some excellent brews from the Bloomington/Normal area. ( Drink local!) Food was wonderful and quickly delivered. I gave five stars on food because it is top quality relative to pubs in general. The Blue Cheese burger was great. I sampled the butterflied pork chop sandwich of the other meal we had and that was a standout! Ambiance is nice as if fitting a local pub in an older downtown building. One notable feature is the walls and ceiling are covered in banners and flags of various kinds which dramatically limits the amount of background noise that would normally be in such a building. There is also a nice outdoor beer garden. This local establishment is well worth the extra minutes off Interstate 55. Also highly recommended to cycling who travel out to the northeast terminus of the trail!"

"Kemp's is a true gem in small town USA. The food is fantastic and you'll always receive your service with a smile. They have a great selection of drinks on tap with the best margaritas around. We've gone here numerous times since moving to town and it has quickly become our family's favorite spot. Give it a try the next time you're in the area. You won't be disappointed!"

"Stopped here for dinner while passing through the area. Typical bar atmosphere with very nice employees. We were seated right away. After you choose your order you will need to go to the bar and order be pay for it. It will be brought to your table once done. There is no table service though. The burgers we got were super delicious and juicy. Can substitute the side for whichever one you want from the appetizer menu in whole or half. Cooks were super fast and I have to say I was amazed at how clean the kitchen and exhaust hood were. Amazing place!"

"Have always had wonderful experiences @Kemps. They have an outstanding selection of draft beers to compliment their unique food creations. Every Saturday is their "Cure" which is a unique entree that changes weekly. Have never had a bad one. Get there early, because when their gone their gone!"

"This place was recommended by a friend. I had never been there. I found everything quite enjoyable. Seasonal drink, passion, fruit margarita. The food? Amazing... cheese curds and fries with gravy. How could you go wrong?!"
